About the Artist
Welcome to the home of Lulu Bears!
It's been quite some time since a website update, but at
last, I'm back in the game. I'm working on a new blog, doing the final touches
on pieces for an online show and recovering from a computer crash. Luckily, the
tech guru was able to save everything, and we are ready to go! We've just
returned from the International Quilt Show in Houston, which was just packed
with people from all over the world. We had a fabulous show, and can't wait
until next year!
In the meantime, we are working on our show schedule, which
we hope will include trips to shows new to us in Dallas, Texas, Oklahoma City,
Cincinnati, Ohio, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Long Beach, California, among
others.
My given name is Luann, though I was always called Lulu as a
child, thus the name of my bears. I've been making collectible teddy bears
since 1990. I have ventured into other companion pieces, including cats and gollies, among others. I make each piece in it's entirety from my original designs. Each bear has a
hang tag, as well as an embroidered "Lulu Bear" tag, identifying it
as a "Lulu Bear" original. This year, I will be focusing on other
ventures in the bear community and participating in bear shows in other areas
of the country.
I offer the hard to find stainless steel beads as well as
the Australian Magazines, "Bear Creations" and "Dolls, Bears,
and Collectibles." New bear-related items are added as we come across
items that we feel others would enjoy as well. Come on in, and visit the rest
